A Fantastical Future

Welcome to 2026!

The United States is fastly becoming an authoritative police state, AI is destroying the planet and the minds of those who utilize it, the cost of living continues to skyrocket, and here I am to provide an update on this passion project of a podcast that releases so unbelievably sporadically that I wouldn’t be surprised if you had thought that I had simply stopped recording episodes entirely.

But that’s just it. This was always meant to be a “passion” project, therefore something I would be passionate about creating.

And I am, more so now than ever before.

I love video games, I love music, I love interactive art. And I want to continue sharing that love, with you.

So I’m doubling down.

Three shows, an actual schedule, and a renewed passion.

The Shows

A Fantastical Week in Video Games - A weekly recap of video game news.

  • Look, I get it. Everyone’s busy these days, myself included. But that doesn’t mean you need to go without being informed about the latest happenings within video games. And that is what I intend on providing every week. “A Fantastical Week in Video Games“ is an audio show that you can simply throw on and get your recap of all the major news stories in video games that happened over the last week. No long-winded commentary. Just the news.

A Recap Through the Fantastical - A monthly recap on everything I had consumed during that month.

  • It’s “The Recap” as it always has been… but with a new name! That’s right, “A Recap Through the Fantastical“ will continue as the show where I can share my thoughts on everything I had read/played/listened to over the course of the last month. I’ll also be using this show to share my thoughts on specific video game news stories that had been published during that month.

  • The end of the year “Top 10” lists for video games and music aren’t going anywhere. These annual episodes will continue to be placed under the “A Recap Through the Fantastical“ banner.

A Deep Dive into the Fantastical - Each episode is focused around a singular topic.

  • I’ve been playing video games for 30+ years, and over the course of those years, there’s always been questions that I keep asking myself. “A Deep Dive Into the Fantastical“ is the show where I will finally answer those questions. What are my favorite video games? How do I like to play games and how has that playstyle shifted over the years? What does my “perfect” MMO look like? Let’s dive in and find out.

The Schedule

  • Weekly (Saturday/Sunday) - A Fantastical Week in Video Games

  • Monthly (End of Month) - Recapping the Fantastical

  • As Time Allows - Diving Into the Fantastical

A Renewed Passion

I love interactive artforms, whether it be diving into the pages of a new novel, dissecting the lyrics of a favorite song, and/or escaping reality to be in a different world of a video game. And above all else, I love sharing those experiences with and learning from others.

I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting over the last year or so and I’ve learned that I want to continue focusing time on the things that bring me joy. Because everyone deserves a little more joy in their life.

This podcast (and this website) was always meant to be my creative outlet. A place where I can share in the things that bring me joy. So that’s exactly what I am going to continue to do and I hope you will join me. The passion has been restored. Let’s get to work.
